CT EarthNet’s mission is to make information about environmental management available to support decision-making about relevant issues. We are a nonpartisan organization and we do not endorse or oppose candidates for office at any level of government.

The source for data about legislative bills, committees and legislators displayed on CT EarthNet is the Connecticut General Assembly (CGA) web site. Individual voting records, as provided by CGA, serve as an unofficial record of the votes cast by members of the House of Representatives. For an official accounting of members' votes, please refer to the Journal of the House of Representatives, as prepared in accordance with Article First, Section 14 of the Constitution of the State of Connecticut.

CT EarthNet does not pre-screen or approve content, but we do reserve the right (but not the obligation) in our sole discretion to remove, refuse, delete or move any content that is available on the CT EarthNet web site that violates our operating mission, community guidelines or for any other reason.

CT EarthNet Community Guidelines

Respect the CT EarthNet Community: Community features on CT EarthNet involve a certain level of trust. We trust you to be responsible, and users respect that trust. Please don’t cross the line.

Here are some common-sense rules to help you: Don’t post content that may be interpreted by us or any user as an ad hominem attack or personally offensive or abusive, violent, sexually explicit or racist. Don’t post content describing or depicting animal abuse, drug abuse, under-age drinking or smoking, or any illegal activities.

We encourage free speech and defend everyone's right to express unpopular points of view. We don't permit hate speech (speech which attacks or demeans a group based on race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status, and sexual orientation/gender identity).

We require respect for others. Any activity that may be interpreted by us or any user as predatory behavior, stalking, threats, harassment, intimidation, invading privacy, revealing other people’s personal information, and inciting others to commit violent acts or to violate the Terms of Use are taken very seriously. Anyone caught doing these things may be permanently banned from CT EarthNet.

CT EarthNet is not, and is not intended to be, a forum for political discussion. We welcome your opinions on important environmental legislation and information about officials, candidates and issues, but please don’t request that other users take a specific action in response to the opinions or information provided.

We do not tolerate spam. Do not create misleading descriptions, tags, titles or thumbnails in order to increase views. Do not post large amounts of untargeted, unwanted or repetitive content, including comments and private messages.

Please take these rules seriously and take them to heart. Don't try to get around the guidelines. Respect the trust users keep. We Enforce These Guidelines.

Users can be penalized and accounts can be terminated for Community Guidelines violations.

CT EarthNet is for the Environmental Community. This is your community! Each and every user of CT EarthNet makes the site what it is, so dig in and get involved! Have fun with the site.
